Students at ISZL have a choice between entering for the Drawing portfolio or the 2 D Design portfolio. In a general sense the distinction is between a more Fine Art approach and a Design approach. The Drawing portfolio should include 12 pieces that show an engagement with drawing 'concerns'.

Work for the Drawing portfolio should demonstrate engagement with:- Form, Content, Tonal Value, Line, Perspective and other Spatial Systems, Composition, Drawing Surface, Depth, Pattern, Representation/Abstraction, Materials, DrawingTechniques.
